Adhaalath Party held a discussion today with the ruling party, MDP, to discuss about forming a coalition in the upcoming presidential election. This was revealed ina tweet by the spokesperson for AP and Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ali Nazeer.
In his tweet, Nazeer said that AP discussed with the MDP today about supporting the MDP candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
Adhaalath Party decided to accept MDP’s presidential candidate, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s invitation to hold discussions, in the emergency sitting of the consultative assembly of the party held last night.
President Solih has invited the existing coalition parties to form a coalition with the MDP in this year’s presidential election.
President of AP and Minister of Home Affairs, Sheikh Ibrahim Abdulla has also said earlier that a coalition including Adhaalath Party will win the presidential election. However, he did not say whether it would be with the existing coalition.
