The oldest COVID-19 patient in Maldives has been discharged from the hospital after he has fully recovered from the virus, for which no vaccine has yet been found.
The patient, Sarudhaaru Dhon Manik, 92 years and a well-known artist, tested positive for COVID-19 on May 29. He is said to have designed the first paper money that was used in the Maldives.
He was infected with the coronavirus when he visited the hospital to get a treatment for an unrelated issue. He was treated at the Tree Top Hospital for 20 days, and is now at home after being discharged.
Recovery figures in the Maldives have been increasing with 130 people released yesterday, while active cases are down to 414 and recorded deaths due to COVID-19 stand at 08.
