Maldives has recorded an additional 648 new positive Covid-19 cases today, confirmed the Health Protection Agency of the Maldives (HPA).

According to the latest statistics publicized by HPA, 349 from the Great Male’ region, 270 from inhabited islands, 13 people from operational resorts and 16 from islands under development tested positive for Covid-19 today.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in the Maldives up to 66,516.

HPA’s statistics state the 648 positive cases were detected from 3,832 samples taken today.

The number of active Covid-19 cases have risen to 22,375, amongst which 213 people are being treated in the hospitals.
