MNDF Southern Area Command alongside Fuvahmulah City Council has commenced a “Community Volunteer Firefighter” training program in Fuvahmulah City.
There are 17 participants in the program which has been scheduled for five days starting 24th February.
The training program is held to train community volunteer firefighters and build the strength of firefighters among the community. The program seeks to expand the involvement of the community during incidents of fire and are trained to assist professional firefighters as well as first responders in saving lives and property.
The program will cover topics such as causes of fire, firefighting methods, and use of firefighting equipment along with demonstrations. Firefighters of MNDF Southern Area Command, Fuvahmulah Fire Station will act as instructors at the program.
