Addu City Council has announced farming lands will be leased to people starting new farming businesses to ensure food security in Addu City during the COVID-19 pandemic.
City council stated farming production needs to be increased during this period to ensure the food security in the City. City council appeals to the current farming businesses to continue growing vegetation. The city council further stated the council will provide aid to farmers working during this period adding farming businesses will also receive aid from relevant authorities.
Additionally, City council announced people wanting to start new farming businesses can request for farming lands by emailing the Island Office starting from March 30.
