The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued white alert for the some atolls of Maldives due to bad weather.
The white alert has been issued for islands between N. Atoll and V. Atoll from 18:00 – 23:00 today. According to MET Office, heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusts of 40 mph are expected in these areas during these hours.
Weather forecasts say that scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected are expected with Northeast /easterly winds at 10 – 20 miles per hour.
MET Office also predicts that the seas are expected to be moderate but becoming rough at times and the wave height will be between 4-7 feet.
MET Office has advised caution to all, especially seafarers during these times.
