The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued white alert for the some atolls of Maldives due to bad weather.
The white alert has been issued for islands between HA. Atoll and Th. Atoll from 19:15 yesterday till 01:00 today. According to MET Office, strong winds of 19-24 mph with rough seas are expected in these areas during these hours.
Weather forecasts say that isolated showers are expected with Northeast /easterly winds at 13 – 23 miles per hour. Winds may gust to 35 miles per hour during showers.
MET Office also predicts that the seas are expected to be rough and the wave height will be between 4-7 feet.
MET Office has advised caution as wave surges are possible during high tides.
