The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued white alert for the some atolls of Maldives due to bad weather.
The white alert has been issued for islands between Lh. Atoll and K. Atoll from 08 a.m. till 02:00 p.m. today. According to MET Office, heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusts of 40 mph are expected in these areas during these hours.
Weather forecasts say that scattered showers with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected with winds of 13-23 miles per hour with gusts of 40 miles per hour during showers.
MET Office also predicts that the seas are expected to be slight and the wave height will be between 4-7 feet.
MET Office has advised caution as wave surges are possible during high tides.
