The Government Oversight Committee of the People’s Majlis has decided to give their approval for the members of the cabinet of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
During the meeting, MP Abdulla Riyaz submitted the motion for approval of the cabinet which was supported by MP Ahmed Rasheed. A total of 5 members voted in favour of the 22 cabinet ministers, while members of the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) abstained from voting.
Therefore, the Chair of the Committee announced that the 22 members have been approved by the majority of the Committee.
