When compared to the same period in 2022, the Maldives has seen a 12.3% increase in the number of tourist arrivals thus far this month.

The Ministry of Tourism has released statistics indicating that between November 1st and November 22nd, 2023, 120,637 tourists arrived in the Maldives. Compared to the 107,455 tourist arrivals reported for the same period last year, there has been a 12.3% increase.

Furthermore, data indicates that there has been a 13% overall rise in visitor arrivals this year compared to the previous one. The Maldives has welcomed 1,640,826 tourists so far this year, compared to 1,451,821 recorded tourist arrivals during the same period last year. The Maldives has recorded 5,033 daily average tourist arrivals in 2023.

Additionally, according to Ministry statistics, Russia is the top travel destination this year with 188,000 recorded arrivals as of November 22, 2023. China ranked third with 172,349 arrivals, while India is ranked second on the list with 177,393 arrivals. The United States, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom are the other nations that made the list of the top 10 markets for 2023.

February was the busiest month for tourism in the Maldives this year, with a total of 177,915 visitors.

On July 16, the Maldives welcomed its one millionth visitor of the year, and it is anticipated that it will soon surpass its goal of 1.9 million visitors.
