Addu City Council and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF)’s southern area has started a programme to disinfect roads of Addu City due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the programme started today MNDF disinfected the main road in Hithadhoo. The city council stated different areas in Addu City will be disinfected under the programme.

Additionally, due to the disinfection programme the city council further banned individuals from selling fish in iceboxes. As the city does not have a proper fish market the public has been raising concerns regarding the ban.

Moreover, the city council instructed all business avenues in the city to close after 1800hrs every day in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the nation.
