Over 100,000 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine across the Maldives.

According to Health Protection Agency of the Maldives (HPA), a total of 6,073 people received the Covid-19 vaccine yesterday. Amongst these, 3,147 were vaccinated in the Greater Male’ Area, while 2,926 of the vaccinations are from the atolls.

Furthermore, so far a total of 105,492 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine across Maldives, including 72,872 in the Greater Male’ Area and 32,620 from the atolls.

The vaccine currently being used in the Maldives is the Covishield vaccine developed by the AstraZeneca-Oxford University, and manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.
