Additional 118 people have tested for Covid-19 in the Maldives, confirmed the Health Protection Agency of the Maldives (HPA).

According to the latest statistics publicized by HPA, 92 from the Great Male’ region, 05 from inhabited islands, 16 people from operating resorts along with 05 from liveaboards tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in the Maldives up to 19,597.

HPA’s statistics state the 118 positive cases were detected from 3,952 samples taken yesterday. A total of 518,663 samples, including repeated samples have been tested for Covid-19 up to date.

The number of active Covid-19 cases have risen to 2,397, amongst which 170 people are being treated in the hospitals.
