The Health Protection Agency of the Maldives (HPA) has confirmed that over 20,000 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the Maldives.

According to HPA, a total of 3,910 people received the Covid-19 vaccine yesterday. Amongst these, 3,285 were vaccinated in the Greater Male’ Area, while 625 of the vaccinations are from the atolls.

Furthermore, so far a total of 20,161 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine across Maldives, including 16,703 in the Greater Male’ Area and 3,458 from the atolls.

The vaccine currently being used in the Maldives is the Covishield vaccine developed by the AstraZeneca-Oxford University, and manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.
