The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued white alert for the central atolls of Maldives due to bad weather.
The white alert has been issued for islands between B. Atoll and F. Atoll, and for Addu City and Fuvahmulah City from 07 a.m. till 01:00 p.m. today. According to MET Office, strong winds of 19-24 mph and gusts of 45 mph with rough seas are expected in these areas during these hours.
Weather forecasts say that between 10 a.m. today and 10 a.m. tomorrow, isolated showers with a few thunderstorms are expected in southern atolls.
MET Office also predicts that the seas are expected to be slight and the wave height will be between 1-3 feet.
MET Office has advised caution as wave surges are possible during high tides.
