At a ceremony held at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE), Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef addressed the senior national men’s volleyball team, officially announcing the final squad and extending his best wishes for their upcoming international competitions. He emphasized the significance of representing the Maldives with honor and pride, reflecting the national sentiment of taking great pride in the achievements of the country’s sporting representatives.

The Vice President expressed his confidence in the team’s determination to excel and strive for championship success. He highlighted volleyball’s popularity and success within the Maldives and reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering the continued development of the sport throughout the nation.

The Maldivian senior men’s national volleyball team is preparing to participate in the 2025 Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Cup, scheduled to take place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from October 22nd to 28th. Before the tournament, the team will undergo a week-long training camp in Thailand, commencing today, October 10th, and concluding on October 17th. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu, along with other high-ranking officials from the Ministry and the Volleyball Association of Maldives.
