A man has been found dead after jumping off into the sea from a moving dinghy.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) says that the dinghy was travelling from Male’ to Thilafushi when the man jumped off from it. He was reported missing to MNDF at around 15:16 today afternoon.
After about an hour of searching, the man was found dead underwater by divers of MNDF Coast Guard.
According to online newspaper “Avas”, the person has been identified as a 33 year old man called Ahmed Anees, living in one of the flats of G. Male Hiyaa 1.
While his body has been brought to Male’ now, Maldives Police Service has launched an investigation into the incident.
