Gan International Airport is now a member of the Aviation Fuel Joint Inspection Group (JIG) with international standards for jet fuel supply.
The Addu International Airport Company (AIA) is the first airport in the Maldives to become a member of the JIG. The company said this is a huge achievement and Gan Airport will always strive to achieve such improvements.
The JIG membership was obtained after the association inspected the standards, procedures and quality of service adopted in the supply of jet fuel at Gan Airport.
Therefore, Gan Airport being included among the best airports in the world in this regard will continue to improve the fuel facility operation of the airport in the future. Gan Airport said.
The airport is located in the southernmost part of Maldives and now has a runway that can accommodate the largest aircraft. It is also one of the most visited airports in the Maldives by the world’s largest private jets.
SriLankan Airlines is the only foreign airline currently operating scheduled flights to Gan. Two domestic airlines also fly to Gan. They are Maldivian and Manta Air.
