As operations for SriLankan Airlines has commenced to Addu city after a 2 year hiatus, the ground agent for SriLankan Airlines, Ace Aviation’s Managing Director, Mohamed Firag has stated that he hopes to be able to build a connection between Gan and Europe.

Speaking with the reporters at Today’s ceremony in welcoming the first flight back to Gan, Firaq said, “Our main focus would be to build a connection with Equope and help create a good connection with all accommodation establishments in South”

He further highlighted on the importance of making Addu as a regional connecting point for other southern atolls starting with Laamu Atoll. The importance of this can be seen further given the limited number of resorts in Addu city. The airline has also release a statement regarding flight operation.

After a 2 year hiatus today marks the first day that SriLankan airline return to Addu atoll and the flight carried 34 connecting passengers from all different sectors. The flight currently Gan by SriLankan Airlines is being operated through Ace Aviation.
