Six different online courses are being organised for Maldivian youth who are affected by COVID-19, free of charge and organised by Ministry of Youth and Sports and Community Empowerment in liaison with Maldives PolyTechnic.
Speaking to AO News, Ahmed Irash, Senior Policy Director and Registrar of NGOs at Youth Ministry said the aim of these courses is to provide additional training and exposure to those who have lost their jobs and are staying home due to closure of their resorts. These are National Certificate Level III courses and interested candidates can enrol by filling up this Google Form.
He also said that this is a good opportunity that can be used to develop human resources and therefore, the youth should take advantage of these courses to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge so that they become better equipped to serve when the resorts reopen.
Youth Ministry is also organising an online meeting with NGOs regarding these programs and other online courses .
