Addu City Council has terminated the initial announcement stating changes brought to business hours in Addu City.
The city council released a notice today stating the termination of the initial announcement released on March 25 to change business hours of all restaurants, cafes’ and shops from 0600hrs to 1800hrs. The council said the initial announcement was released as a safety precaution against the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The council appreciated the public and business vendors for following the instructions and orders of the council. The initial announcement was terminated after a tweet from Health Protection Agency (HPA) stating no local councils were given instructions to change business hours in any area other than Greater Male’ Region.
However, the city council appealed to the public to continue following the changes as per the initial announcement during the State of Public Health Emergency declared in Maldives in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.
