The national airline, Maldivian announced today that as part of its operations with the government, it had repatriated an additional 200 Bangladeshi nationals from the Maldives. Maldivian flight departed from Velana International Airport (VIA) to Dhaka around 1200hr today. Some of the repatriated did not have valid documentation while others wished to depart due to various reasons.

More than 3000 Bangladeshi nationals have been repatriated by Maldivian so far. Among them includes 135 Bangladesh nationals repatriated to Dhaka from Addu City as well.

While, more than 3000 Bangladesh nationals have bee repatriated back to their home country majority of COVID-19 cases reported in Maldives are also Bangladesh nationals, a total of 1357 cases.
