Malé, Maldives — Mohamed Muizzu has reconstituted the Special Cabinet Committee established in response to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The Committee, which was initially formed on 28 February 2026, was restructured during a Cabinet meeting held on 15 April 2026 following recent changes to the Cabinet.
The reconstituted Committee will continue to oversee matters related to the evolving situation in the Middle East and its potential implications.
The members of the Committee are as follows:
Moosa Zameer – Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises (Chair)
Adam – Minister of Foreign Affairs
Mohamed Saeed – Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade
Ahmed Shiyam – Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources
Mohamed Ameen – Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation
The reconstitution of the Committee reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure a coordinated and strategic response to international developments, particularly those that may impact the Maldives.
