President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended his congratulations to Maldivian athlete Mariyam Eshal Misbah for winning a silver medal in the junior women’s category at the Asian Pistol and Rifle Cup.
In a post on his official X account this evening, the President referred to this achievement as a historic milestone, marking Mariyam Eshal Misbah as the first Maldivian athlete to earn a silver medal in an Asian-level shooting competition.
The President also noted that Eshal excelled against competitors from 21 countries in a tournament featuring 23 Asian nations.
The Asian Pistol and Rifle Cup 2025 is currently being held in Bangkok, Thailand. Fifteen-year-old Mariyam Eshal Misbah, who secured the silver medal, is a student at Majeedhiya School.
