For the second meeting of the High-Level Committee that the two nations formed to discuss the return of Indian soldiers to India, a delegation from the Maldives has arrived in India.

The Ministry of External Affairs had previously declared that India would host the second round of negotiations about the withdrawal of Indian troops from the Maldives.

Senior officials from both nations will be present at the second high-level co-group meeting, which is scheduled to take place in New Delhi today, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

“These are the high-level co-group meetings that were agreed upon by the two leaders during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s meeting with the Indian Prime Minister in Dubai in December last year,” said the ministry.

The first of these committees was established last month to deliberate and make decisions on other significant matters between the two nations.

Indian soldiers have now been given the option to leave the Maldives, according to the Maldivian government. By March 15, the government has mandated that troops be deployed.
