President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed participated in the special programme of “Baajjaveri Hendhuneh” this morning to commemorate the 61st anniversary of Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu, the national radio station of the Maldives.
Speaking in the programme, President Dr Muizzu expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the invaluable services rendered to the nation by Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu since its inception 61 years ago. The President also assured the government’s support and facilitation for the modernisation and development of Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu.
The President highlighted the nation’s developmental progress and shared updates on various government initiatives. Responding to phone call queries from the listeners, the President informed that the Administration is expediting the construction of the Thilamalé Bridge under the Greater Malé Connectivity Project (GMCP) connecting Malé, Villimalé, Gulhifalhu, and Thilafushi. The President also emphasised the Administration’s commitment to enhancing nationwide connectivity. He detailed the ongoing efforts to develop and ensure high-speed ferry services nationwide through the Raajje Transport Link (RTL). The President provided an updated timeline for this initiative, projecting its completion within the next two years.
Moreover, the President reaffirmed his presidential pledge to ensure equitable housing for all citizens. He confidently declared that the nationwide housing needs will be comprehensively addressed and fulfilled by the end of his term.
The President and the First Lady also shared insights into their personal lives and engaged in cordial interactions with acquaintances and members of the public who joined the radio programme.
