In relation to the stabbing death of a man inside a Maafannu business, Ibrahim Faih Nizam and another guy have been charged with intentional homicide.

A gang of persons broke into the Krasa shop in Murangamagu on February 24 at approximately 21:31 pm. The case was filed against 26-year-old Faih and another individual from Maradhoo Feydhoo island of Addu City.

Guleynuranmaage resident Siruhan Ali is the second accused in the case.

The prosecutor’s office said the two men were charged with intentional homicide on March 30, last month.

In February, following multiple attacks in the nation’s capital, the authorities initially made the search for Faih public. One month later, on March 21, he turned himself in to the police and was taken into custody.

According to the PG, he was detained at the time in relation to an assault that took place inside De Public Cafe.

He was placed in judicial prison until the conclusion of the trial on May 9 by the trial court, following many extensions. But subsequently, he was freed on bond.

Faih was accused of aggravated penetrative assault, attack with dangerous weaponry, and impeding the performance of a law enforcement official’s responsibilities in April, just before his release.

A court order led to Faih’s re-arrest on May 6. After his appearance before a local court the following day, he was placed under 45 days of police prison on remand. But the PG office’s plea to place Faih under house arrest until the trial’s conclusion preceded the court’s ruling.

Dissatisfied with the trial court’s ruling, the state appealed it to the supreme court, which ruled on May 5 that the lower court’s decision was void. In addition, the three-judge panel directed the court to decide whether to hold Faih in custody until the conclusion of the investigation and trial if he requested that the relevant court do so.

As per the directive, Faih was to stay under arrest until the trial’s conclusion by the trial court.

The information in The Log of Faih’s detention showed that Judge Aminath Azlifa noted that Faih murdered someone with a sharp object during the crime, that he appeared to have been involved in the commission of the crime, that another person was involved with him, and that he had also been arrested in cases of assault. The notion that the community’s safety might be in danger was involved in the case proceedings.

The evidence against Faih is as follows:

  1. Statement of witnesses
  2. Video and Intelligence Report
  3. Fingerprint Comparison Report
  4. DNA Testing Report
  5. Scene of Crime Officers Report
  6. Medico-Legal Report
  7. Evidence of death

Due to a disagreement between NC Park and Kudahenveiru, Nautte, 30, was attacked. Nautte belonged to NC Park. Witnesses said that as Nautte attempted to escape to the Krasa store, he was attacked. Someone had stabbed him there.

The next accused in the case, Siruhan, is also being held by the court.
