Taxis will be permitted to stop close to the domestic terminal of Velana International Airport (VIA), according to a statement made by the Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL).

According to MACL, a taxi or private automobile stop area (drop-off point) has been put up for domestic passengers on the northern side of the domestic terminal as of today in order to facilitate traveller requests for services from VIA.

Taxis heading to the domestic terminal will now be allowed to reach the area of the airport where the Buruzu cafe is located. After turning around, passengers will have to wait near the former Mariyad Cafe in the domestic terminal.

The current international terminal’s cab drop-off and pick-up areas will remain unchanged, according to MACL.

Taxis are permitted to halt till the domestic terminal, although as is currently the case at the airport, they must travel to the designated location.
In the past, passengers had to grab a taxi outside the international airport and walk with their bags from the international terminal to the domestic terminal.
Thus, according to MACL, passengers will find it simpler as a result of today’s modification.
