President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Hassan Mughnee as a member of the Privatization and Corporatization Board.

Hassan Mughnee holds a Master of Business Administration with a major in International Business (Finance & Economics) from Massachusetts, USA, Brandeis International Business School. His previous roles include serving as Minister of State for Environment, Climate Change, and Technology, as well as holding the position of Managing Director at the State Electric Company (STELCO).

President Dr. Muizzu also appointed three new members yesterday to the Privatization and Corporatization Board by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

They are as follows:

  1. Ahmed Mushthag, Accounting and Finance Sector
  2. Leena Abdul Jaleel, Banking Sector
  3. Uz. Moosa Fathuhy Adam, Business Administration Sector

The members were appointed in accordance with the authority granted to the President by Law No. 3/2013 (Privatization, Corporatization, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Government Businesses Act).

Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), consisting of 7 members was established under the ‘Law of Privatization, corporatization, monitoring and Evaluation of Government businesses’ (Law no. 3/2013) to carry out privatization, corporatization, monitoring, evaluation, selling of public shares from Government companies, Government shareholding companies and commercial government businesses as under this law and all procedures relating to such activities.
