Nasheed disclosed that the President’s Office employed “Vaguthu” newspaper to publish false information about him. According to the “Vaguthu” daily, Nasheed declared that if President Ibrahim is given a second term, it will be the last day of Nasheed’s political career.
Nasheed clarified in a string of tweets that he did not say anything along those lines and that it is unquestionably incorrect.
This election will not be won by President Solih. Furthermore, I will not build my political career on President Solih,” he stated. Additionally, according to President Nasheed, the fraudulent news was distributed by the President’s Office at a price.
The “Vaguthu” newspaper is one of several publications supported by the President’s Office and state-owned enterprises.
