The Criminal Court has ordered the remand of the man arrested in connection with holding people hostage in a house in Malé City, Maldives. The Court has also ordered to handover the child arrested in this case to his family.
Police said they received a tip-off that some people had been kidnapped at house on “Abadhah Ufaa” street in Henveiru and attended the scene following the information.
Police said they attended to the incident and used force to enter the premises and rescued the hostages.
A Maldivian male below 18 years of age and another man were arrested in connection with the incident, said the Police.
The child below 18 years of age has been handed over to his family while the other man has been remanded for 15 days.
Police said they are looking into this case and are conducting further investigations.
