President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih called on the public on Wednesday to reflect on the national developmental needs when nurturing and upbringing children. He made these remarks in his message on Children’s Day.

In his message, President Solih stressed that the state, community, parents, and guardians have a responsibility to raise every child with the skills and mindset to progress national development further in their chosen field. Describing children and shoots nurtured to lead the nation’s future, the President asked parents and guardians to consider teaching children about current social concerns and issues.

President Solih also reiterated children’s rights and the importance of celebrating Children’s Day. He stated that the love and care of parents and guardians must be ensured from the birth of every child and that every child should grow up in an environment that gives precedence to their health and wellbeing, provides the necessary guidance and care, and instills in them the virtues of righteous behaviour. He added that Children’s Day is marked to promote child welfare and increase public awareness of their rights.

President Solih also sent greetings and wishes for the occasion to all children, parents, guardians, and teachers in his message.
