According to certain media reports, lunar eclipse dubbed “Blood Moon” would be seen in Maldives today; however, the Islamic Ministry has disputed these claims.

The astronomical committee has concluded that the red moon would be eclipsed when the moon rises in Maldives today, according to an official from the Islamic Ministry.

“As a result, there will be no keytha namaadhu (eclipse prayer) in the Maldives,” the official explained.

According to astronomers, the next lunar eclipse will occur in October of next year. Asia, Australia, North America, sections of northern and eastern Europe, and parts of South America will be able to see the eclipse.
