Maldives Association for HR Professional (MAHRP) has successfully conducted its HR Best Practice Share session in the city of Addu. The two hour session, held at Equator Village was attended by about 130 participants from different organizations.

The areas focused on in the session included change management and mindset, disciplinary procedures and guidance for human resources professionals in these areas.

The speakers at the event included Head of HR business of Bank of Maldives – Ahmed Ibrahim, and the general manager –  HR of Universal Enterprises, Ali Adam. Moreover, a panel discussion on issues relating to gender inequality and harassment in the workplace was also organized within the session.

The president of MAHRP, Hussain Afeef, who is also the regional director training of Lux resorts highlighted the positive response to the session which was directed for the human resources professionals of Addu city. He expressed interest in conducting similar sessions in the future as well as organizing a leadership conference in Addu.

MAHRP is the first NGO in Maldives dedicated to train and create awareness for HR professionals. The main objective of MAHRP is to provide assistance to HR professionals and to provide much needed resources for HR by connecting with key personnel from the international arena.

The co-hosting partner for the event was Equator Village, while Southern Community Empowerment Association of Maldives  (SCEAM) was its NGO support partner.
