Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has begun efforts to promote the Maldives through Dutch journalists.

According to MMPRC, the Dutch team involved in promoting the Maldives includes journalists from popular online magazines, print magazines and newspapers. The number of people who have been brought to the Maldives by the Netherlands has reached one million.

The team’s participants stayed in three Maldivian resorts and experienced a variety of dishes. Therefore, under the theme “Wellness”, they have decided to write documents on the experiences and food items available from the three resorts they stayed in.

According to MMPRC, the team’s documents were targeted at wealthy travellers from the Dutch market.

MMPRC said the event was based on the rapidly changing global geo-political situation caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war and to mitigate the negative impact on the number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives.

The FAM trip is part of Visit Maldives’ strategy to increase the popularity of Maldives among the Dutch market countries to ensure that the Maldives is a safe and secure island destination for Dutch tourists.
