Homestay business is a concept introduced by the Maldivian Democratic Party says Member of the Parliament for Ungoofaaru Constituency, Mohamed Waheed (Waddey).
According to a tweet made by the MP, Earning from a living residence is a pledge made by the party and also thanked Abdulla Rasheed for working as an individual to introduce homestay tourism.
MP Waheed has also noted this is the first time homestay tourism has started in the Maldives. The island that commenced homestay tourism is Meemu Dhigaaru and the concept was inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism Dr Abdulla Mausoom.
