The first phase of the government’s Integrated National Public Ferry Network to be operated by MTCC, President declares.
In a cabinet meeting, a paper regarding the ferry system was proposed by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure. After discussions by the cabinet ministers, the president decided that the initial phase of the ferry system will be operated by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company.
This system aims to connect Maldivian islands at an affordable price as President Solih had promised during his campaign. In addition, the system will transport both passengers and cargo and travel back and forth between National Special Planning’s three zones and six regions
President Solih’s government continuously works to ensure that Public Transport is affordable to the common people.
