State Trading Organisation Plc (STO)’s Managing Director Mr. Husen Amru Mohamed Rashad has stated the company will continue to provide for the customers even if the nation goes for a complete lock down.
Amru said the company is conducting a drill in order to prepare for a complete lock down if necessary regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. He added the company which provides the public with foods, medicine and oil for transportation cannot be closed down regardless of whether the nation goes for a complete lock down.
In the drill conducted today, STO will change the opening hours of some of the company’s shops. Additionally, the company advises most of its staff to work from homes in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Moreover, STO stated the company has not encountered any difficulty in providing the public with food and medicine in the period of State of Public Health Emergency declared in Maldives.
