Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has emphasized that the Maldives is demonstrating to the world that its people will always stand firm for the cause of the Palestinian people.
Speaking at a special telethon organized by PSM under the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Tourism Minister Faisal highlighted the significance of the event initiated by the President. He noted that the Maldivian people have consistently raised their voices for Palestine and will continue to stand firm in their support, regardless of the nation’s size.
“I remember from a very early age when our people raised their voices for Palestine. In our joint efforts, we hope to find an early solution to the Palestinian issue,” said Minister Faisal.
Minister of Language, Culture, and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim also spoke during the telethon while handing over assistance provided by his ministry to PSM. He emphasized that the Palestinian issue resonates deeply with the Maldivian people. He noted that the plight of the Palestinians has always been a matter of strong sentiment among the Maldivian populace. He stressed that while financial support is crucial, the prayers of Muslims are a powerful force.
“For one thing, the land of some people has been unjustly taken away. On the other hand, humans have suffered immensely, and a section of the Muslim ummah is suffering because they are Muslims. This is a matter of global concern as the situation worsens day by day,” Minister Ibrahim said.
The telethon, conducted by PSM at the President’s request to help the Palestinians, has received widespread support from various quarters.
