The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has actively participated in a webinar organized by Japanese travel agents to boost tourism to the Maldives. The event was part of a series of webinars hosted by the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) and the Japan Outbound Tourism Council (JOTC).
During the first session of the series, MMPRC shared the latest promotions and updates about the Maldives, focusing on recent tourism information and travel guidelines. The JOTC aims to strengthen JATA’s communication and cooperation with international organizations, travel and tourism ministries, and destination marketing organizations (DMOs).
The purpose of these webinars is to promote various tourism destinations to Japanese transportation businesses. The Maldives session targeted nearly 300 delegates from Japan’s transport industry and media and was held via Zoom for 25 minutes.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of Japanese tourists visiting the Maldives has been steadily increasing. MMPRC has been making concerted efforts to further boost this number by promoting the Maldives as a high-end destination and highlighting the country’s diverse products and experiences.
Additionally, MMPRC plans to participate in the Travel Expo Japan (TEJ) to showcase the beauty of the Maldives to the Japanese market.
