Managing Director of STELCO, Hussain Fahmy has said that the former administration has neglected the Sinamalé Bridge.

In a post made on X, Fahmy said that the due to the negligence in maintenance, the name of the bridge and lights installed on the bridge have been damaged.

As such, seven of the 10 DC supply units used to supply electricity to the bridge monument are faulty, he said. Fahmy also added that many of the LEDs were damaged, and the brackets and screws used to attach the monument have rusted, and will need to be replaced.

In his post, Fahmy said that national monuments such as this should be properly maintained. He said that under the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, this government will properly maintain such important monuments and ensure the safety of everyone.
