Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, Dr. Aishath Rameela has decided to travel abroad for cancer treatment.
In a Facebook post today, Minister Dr. Rameela said she has decided to travel abroad for HIEPEC chemo and radiation treatment as she has been diagnosed with cancer. She also requested people to pray for her in the post.
The government has said that arrangements will be made to effectively run the Ministry until Dr. Rameela, who took office on 17th of this month, returns back to Maldives after he treatment.
Dr. Rameela was the Minister of State for Health during former President Abdulla Yameen’s regime. She has also served as the Minister of State for Gender and the Registrar of the Maldives Medical and Dental Council.
