Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid paid a courtesy call on the President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan yesterday, during the President’s State Visit to the Maldives.
At the meeting held at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, Minister Shahid welcomed the President and his delegation to the Maldives and reaffirmed the strong commitment of the Government of Maldives to further enhance bilateral cooperation and increase collaboration at the regional and international levels on matters of mutual interest.
Minister Shahid further noted that the agreements signed on Monday, will be mutually beneficial to both, the people of Maldives and the people Seychelles and expressed hope that the Visa Exemption Agreement will allow greater people-to-people interaction between both countries. Minister Shahid also reaffirmed that the Maldives stands ready to implement the outcomes agreed upon by the two leaders during the Official Talks held in the morning at the President’s Office.
President Wavel Ramkalawan is currently on a State Visit to the Maldives from 11 – 14 June 2023 on the invitation of the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. President Ramkalawan is accompanied by Her Excellency Linda Ramkalawan, First Lady of the Republic of Seychelles and a high-level delegation from the Government of Seychelles, including His Excellency Sylvestre Radegonde, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism.
