A farewell ceremony for the 17th batch of the customized “Capacity Building Programme in Field Administration for Civil Servants of Maldives” will take place at the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) New Delhi and Mussoorie from October 31 to November 11, 2022, was held on October 26 at the Civil Service Commission of the Maldives.

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to the Maldives in June 2019, the CSC and NCGG signed a Memorandum of Understanding. More than 530 Maldivian civil officials have received training as part of this MoU as of the 17th batch. Civil servants from Ministries, Atolls & Islands Councils, Health Centers, Schools, etc. make up the participants in the various collections.

This two-week training program would start and cover subjects like total quality management, performance management, stress management at work, public-private partnerships, SDGs, public grievance redressal mechanisms, etc. In addition, field trips would include stops at the Taj Mahal, the Indian Parliament, the AIIMS, the PM Museum, Delhi Heritage, and the Delhi Metro Rail Corp.

President Solih visited India in August 2022, and both leaders were pleased to see that over the previous few years, capacity building and training had grown to be a crucial tenet of the two countries partnership.

India-Maldives capacity-building cooperation is demonstrated well by the relationship between NCGG and CSC.

In addition, Maldivian government employees take part in a number of wholly sponsored training programs offered by the GoI through the ITEC program (both physical and e-ITEC).
