The UN General Assembly (UNGA) has announced that it will hold a meeting with the UN Security Council on Wednesday. Permanent Representatives to the United Nations have praised. Minister Shahid served as the President of the UN General Assembly at the 76th session. The UN. 191 out of 193 UN member states voted in the General Assembly while 143 voted for Abdullah Shahid
When his term expired on September 13, UN officials welcomed and praised the success of his “Presidency of Hope”.

“We are grateful to the President of Sri Lanka, all the people of Sri Lanka and the entire country for providing such a capable leader like Minister Shahid at a difficult time in the world. And there is no better partner than Minister Shahid to make his efforts successful.” Collen explained. Colin congratulated the minister and the people of Dhaka for working as he promised at a time when hope was needed.
Argentina’s Ambassador to the United Nations Maria del Carmen Squef:
“Minister Shahid maintained very close relations with all countries. He sincerely listened to the proposals and stories of all countries without isolating any country.” Maria explained. Further, Maria noted the priority he gave to class equality at a time when class equality should be given great importance.
Morocco’s UN envoy Omar Hilal:
“It was not an easy task but his skills, diplomacy and foreign affairs work and awareness easily brought all countries together to formulate a number of resolutions and gained more popularity and visibility for the UN”. Omar explained. Morain said Minister Shahid was satisfied with the way the UN’s voice reached 35 countries.
