The Department of National Registration (DNR) has extended the validity of all expired National Identity Card up to 30th June 2021.

In an announcement released this morning, DNR has stated that the validity of expired National ID cards was extended to reduce gatherings of people in one place due to the current situation of Covid-19 in Male’ region, and also because it has been noted that a lot of people have expired ID cards.

However, although the validity of expired ID cards has been extended, applications for ID cards will still be accepted online via their website, says DNR.
