All services provided at Hithadhoo Regional Hospital (HRH) have been transferred to Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH).
AEH was officially opened on January 15 offering all services except for Emergency services and Hospital Inpatient Care (IPD). AEH announced transfer of all services from HRH to AEH from 1600hrs on April 2.
However, HRH will continue to provide flu clinic services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening hours of the flu clinic are morning 0830hr to 1200hr, afternoon 1400hrs to evening 1800hrs and night 1900hrs to 2200hrs every day.
AEH was initially established as the Addu Equatorial Convention Center in Hithadhoo by former President Mohamed Nasheed for the 17th SAARC Summit held in November 2011. Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdulla Gayoom during his administration made the decision to convert the convention center into a 100-bed tertiary hospital.
