Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the president-elect, requested the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the Maldives to further bolster ties with the Islamic Arab nations.
The office of the incoming president in Dhimaayath was visited by the Saudi ambassador. The visit was attended by the incoming president and his vice president. Dr. Muizzu highlighted during the meeting his desire for the upcoming administration to elevate the two nations’ relations to a new level.
Dr. Muizzu went on to say that as the Maldives is an Islamic nation, he would like to further improve ties with Arab Islamic nations while in office.
The President-elect expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its aid to the Maldives.
He appealed with the ambassador to enlist Saudi Arabia’s support and cooperation in carrying out the commitments he made to win the next term of office.
The ambassador stated that there are several connections between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives. The ambassador gave the Maldives assurances of assistance with a number of areas of collaboration for their growth.
