MDP’s use of exclusively government school halls has drawn criticism from MNP Vice President Ahmed Usham.
Usham said in a series of tweets that the party uses public schools for its political purposes, but the education ministry asserts that this is against regulations whenever another party requests to utilise a school hall for a meeting.
Usham called attention to this and questioned Minister Aishath Ali on the type of justice and equality it represented.
Usham questioned, “What kind of equality and justice is this (do these things also indicate that the elections this year will not be free and fair)?”
He asserted that the legitimacy of this year’s elections is also in doubt if the administration continues to act in such discriminatory manner.
