On Wednesday, Sun Siyam Media (SS Media) committed to serving as the official transmission partner of the “MTCC Eid Baibalaa Challenge 1444.”

The partnership deal was signed on behalf of SS Media by Chief Operating Officer Mohamed Asif (Mondhu), and the Baibalaa Association was represented by Secretary General Saeed Ali.

In accordance with this agreement, SSTV will stream all of the tournament’s matches live while they transpire over the course of six days beginning the day after Eid al-Fitr. The entire competition will also be streamed live on social media channels of SS Media.

Saeed, the secretary general of the Baibalaa Association, highlighted the 35 teams and more than 1,000 players who participated in the competition last year and expressed optimism for a similar turnout this time around.

He explained that SS Media’s commitment to youth and sports-related programming during the brief time since the television channel’s launch led to their selection as the broadcasting partner.

“A media that has quickly gained a lot of support from the general population. This time, the choice was made because the station prioritises sports and young people, in addition to being new. Mohamed Zaheen, chief content officer at SS Media, stated that the company is still dedicated to providing its audience with sports, entertainment, and youth-related material.

If there is no Baibalaa, Eid is not truly an Eid. For this reason it is important to introduce this sport to the youth,” he further explained.

For the second year in a row, winning individuals and teams will receive cash awards. In this respect, the winning team will receive MVR 100,000, while the runner-up team will receive MVR 40,000. The fair play squad will receive MVR 5,000. Additionally, the top five teams from the competition will be chosen.
